Hosea Brassell, Jr. was born on April 25, 1939 in Batesville, Mississippi to the late Hosea Brassell Sr. and Leona Brassell.
“Brother” as he was affectionately known, grew up in Batesville and attended Shiloh Southside School. Shortly after graduation he enlisted in the United States Army National Guard. After he was honorably discharged, he was employed at the Steel Mill as a welder and retired from RE Michaels Trucking Company as a long distance truck driver.
He was a huge Steelers and Pirates fan just like his father. He also enjoyed family and friends dropping by to holler at him. The visit wasn’t complete unless you brought Butter Pecan ice cream or dream Sickles.
On October 27, 2019 Hosea departed this life and was preceded in death by his parents.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife and longtime friend, June Taylor Brassell; brother, Ezell (Pam Brown) Brassell; children, Hosea Brassell III, Stacey (Jon) Brassell-Knight, Tracey Brassell, Yvonne Brassell, Rodney Brassell, Christina Brassell, and Tracey Morris, He also leaves cherished memories to his loving step-children, Eric, Zarria, Dominick, Jamie, Lakia, James Jr., Eric, Frank, Tracey, and Kim; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces , nephews, other relatives and friends.
He will be sorely missed.
