Gregg Howard Colbert was born in, PA to the late Vivian M. Colbert and James L. Colbert, November 29, 1948. He departed this world, on his 71st birthday, Friday November 29, 2019.
Gregg was one of two children to Vivian and James. He and his late brother James, lovingly called Pookie, grew up in the Hill District, on “Sugar Top.” Gregg loved music following in the footsteps of his father, who was a musician, and took up the tenor guitar. Starting in high school he had a band, Howard C and the Highlighters, that played cabarets, semi-formals, parties, and different night clubs. He also enjoyed playing tennis and he LOVED his Steelers!
Like both of his parents, Gregg received his high school diploma from Schenley High School on June 16, 1967. He also obtained his real estate license and became a certified Maintenance Technician through Pitney Bowes from where he retired at the age of 55.
If you knew Gregg you knew two things- he loved to laugh and he loved to party! When his health took a turn, he was determined to make it to his 71st birthday. On November 29, 2019 he listened to music, laughed with his family, and celebrated his way to God. He died with love and peace in his heart.
