Gloria Jean Montgomery Johnson, the daughter of the late Carrie Lee Montgomery Uzzle and Ernest Montgomery was born on January 18, 1943. Gloria was preceded in death by her brothers Walter King and Dwayne Montgomery. Gloria, 75 years young, departed this earthly life for her heavenly home on November 13, 2018. Gloria grew up in West Mifflin, and graduated from Duquesne High School where she met her high school sweetheart the late John Burnell Johnson. They were joined in holy matrimony and from this holy union two daughters were born.
Gloria was a member of Garden City United Methodist Church. She was employed for 38 years at Jefferson Hospital and retired as a Central Service Department Supervisor. She was a volunteer and financial supporter for numerous charitable organizations. Gloria had a passion for cooking and baking. She loved hosting gatherings for her family and friends. Gloria was a world traveler who enjoyed vacationing with her family and friends. All who knew Gloria loved her for her quiet demeanor, kind spirit and generous heart. Gloria’s greatest joys were her late husband, her children, and her grandchildren.
Gloria leaves to mourn, her devoted daughters Yvonne Barnes and Tonya Johnson; her son-in-law Leon Barnes; her grandchildren Zakera Barnes, Tynasha Barnes and Adia Glen. She is also survived by six brothers, Russell Montgomery (Peggy), Richard Montgomery, Lawrence Montgomery (Peggy), David Montgomery, Keith Montgomery, and Edward Montgomery and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. She will be dearly missed by many.
