Florine Marshall (Cabbagestalk) was born October 7, 1940 in Sumter, SC. She was the 9th of 10 children born to the late Aileen and McKeever Cabbagestalk. The family moved to Pittsburgh when Florine was 2 years old.
Florine attended PPS and graduated from Fifth Avenue High School. She later married James Marshall on August 15, 1964 and spent her life raising her children and grandchildren. Florine was known to most as "Flo" and loved playing Bid Whist and preparing meals for her family. Florine was a respected voice and active in her community, working to bring assistance programs to low income families in her neighborhood. She was instantly loved by anyone who was blessed to meet her.
Florine is preceded in death by her parents, siblings Thomas, McKeever, Lillie, Roosevelt (Son), Henry (J.T), Walter, Louise (Lou, James and grandson Ricardo Craig. She leaves to continue her legacy of acceptance and unconditional love, 3 children, Sylvia Scott (William), Diane Jackson (Willie) and Mark Marshall Sr. (Naomi). Also following in those footsteps are her 8 grandchildren, Brandi Marshall, Neil Williams, Randi Owens, Charnese Moore, Mark Marshall Jr., Monte' Marshall,k Joshua Craig and her first great grandchild Rhauri-Lee Pearson. She also leaves, in God's care, her last remaining sibling, Daisy English, and many other relatives and friends.
