Obituary
Darlene Scott was born on November 18th, 1951 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was the eldest daughter of six children born to the late Paul and Ruby Scott.
“Ducky” as she was affectionately known was educated and graduated from South Park High School in 1970. Upon graduation she was employed with Bell of Pennsylvania as a Telephone Operator. Through her 33 years of faithful employment she saw the company she worked for transition to Verizon. She retired as a Clerk.
Ducky accepted Christ at an early age and united with Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Being a member of the Mixed Mass Choir, she faithfully worshiped the Lord through her gift of singing. “Going up Yonder” was not only her favorite song to sing, but also a delight for the congregation to hear. She enjoyed attending her Thursday afternoon Bible Study, where she loved to embrace the word of God.
She took joy in the little things in life which included reading, attending church, QVC shopping, and never putting down her iPad. She was devoted to a life with her family, showing off every new photograph that was sent to her. Her daily routine of sending good morning and good night text will be greatly missed. Her unique response to, “I love you “, being, “I love you more than I love myself”, will forever be cherished.
Darlene was a strong woman. She would always speak her mind, never holding back. Yet that was the beauty of it, because once you heard what she had to say it always seemed right. She never lost hope or faith and she fought until the Lord called her home, knowing that He would keep her in, “perfect peace.”
Darlene departed this life on September 9th, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Ruby Scott, brother Wayne White, and sister Yvonne Scott.
Darlene leaves cherished and loving memories to her loving daughter, Danielle Manson of South Park, PA; two granddaughters, Tiffany Williams and Jordan Manson of South Park, PA; sister Shawn Scott of Swissvale, PA; two brothers, Paul Scott (Marilyn) of Columbia, SC and Bruce Scott (Kimberly) of Blairsville, PA; nieces and nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and many beloved friends.
