Celeste Hunter was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at Magee Hospital on Thursday, October 12, 1972 to Pamela Hunter and the late Samuel Reed. Celeste was the youngest of four children. She lost her brave battle with cancer, and departed from this life on August 7, 2019 at Lawson Nursing Home in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania.
Celeste graduated from Steel Valley High School in Munhall, PA. She loved driving school buses and driving for Grey Hound bus company of Pittsburgh, she later moved to Chicago, Illinois, where she worked for the Chicago Transit Authority. Celeste was an extremely, proud mother of five, and would do anything for her children. Celeste was family oriented and always looked for a way to bring the entire family together. She had a love for dancing and listening to music. Her favorite musician was Mary J. Blige. Celeste was a fighter who wasn’t afraid of anything, and she fought up until her journey to heaven with the Lord. Celeste was preceded in death by her cherished daughter, Rodayshja Kenyetta Marshman. Celeste was a child of God who had accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
Celeste leaves behind to Cherish her memory; grandmother, Peggy Hunter, mother, Pamela Hunter; sons, Christopher Hunter, Garrett King, LaDale Coles, and KaDale Coles; granddaughter, Pearis Hunter; grandsons, Ja’Dour Brown and Khyree Hunter; brother, Dewayne Hunter (Aristasia); sisters, Dana Hunter-Jones (David), Christina Hunter; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and several close friends.
