Carolyn Pryor Obituary

Carolyn Pryor was born on September 9, 1934 in Cedartown Georgia. She was the third and last child of Vandella Scott. It was in Cedartown that she met and married JC Pryor. After JC returned from a stint in the army, he and Carolyn moved to Pittsburgh. From that union came four children, Myra, Joel (Betty), Rosalind (Richard) and Carolyn Diane.

When her children were of age, Carolyn went to work for Sears Roebuck and company in East Liberty. It was the only job outside of her home she would hold. Carolyn's retail career went from part time sales clerk, to full time, to department management, to being part of a multi store management team.

Carolyn always enjoyed planting and caring for flowers in her garden. She especially loved roses. She was one of Jehovah's witnesses for most of her adulthood. As an exemplary Christian, hers was a life of, love, humility, and self-sacrifice.

Carolyn left us on April 8th 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, JC Pryor, her brother Floyd Scott and her sister Viola Hoxey. Her four children, nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, along with a host of, nieces, nephews, family and friends will all miss her kindness.

Those who knew Carolyn know she hated being fussed over and would rather give than receive. Family and friends will all miss her kindness. She was a blessing to everyone who knew her.
