Byron Sawyer Obituary

Byron James Sawyer "Bubba" age 30, "Transitioned to Glory" on February 4, 2019.  Byron was born on January 13, 1989, in Pittsburgh, PA to James N. Sawyer and Bradonia L. Blye.

He was raised in a Christian home where he was taught the principles of hard work, good character and integrity.  Most of all he was taught to love Christ.  Byron accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age and was baptized at Covenant Church of Pittsburgh.

During his life he held various jobs, before entering into the Military.  Byron was sworn into the Army on July 2, 2015, after completing basic training, he became a truck driver and a member of combat team 1 where he was a top gunner when he went NTC with his unit.  He worked at the battalion as Command Sargeant Major's Aid.  Also, he was a Pt Stud in his unit and was selected to do Pt with the Post General.  Byron was an outstanding soldier and was a mentor to many of his peers.  

Byron's love for God shined through his life and military career, no matter what the task or mission he had to complete.

In 2018,  Byron married his wife Genieva while they both were stationed at Fort Stewart, GA.  Byron loved his life as a husband, father, son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend.  He was a God Fearing man and tried to live his life to honor God in everything he did.  He enjoyed the company of family and friends,  He was compassionate, kind, generous and loving.  Byron will be remembered especially for his unique personality and his never ending jokes and laughter.

He was always the life of any party.  Byron was a very special who was loved by everyone who knew him, he had a smile that could light up any room, he loved life and his son Nosha was his world.  He was preceded in death by his brother Kip James, grandparents James R. sawyer, Winnie Ann Sawyer, grandfather Marion T. Blye and great grandmother, Elizabeth M. Ginyard.

He leaves to mourn his passing, loving wife, Genieva Sawyer, son Nosha Porter, father James N. Sawyer, mother, Bradonia L. Blye, sister ElLivia L. Sawyer, two brothers, Bryant D. Blye and Brandon T. Blye, grandmother, Elizabeth M. Blye-Blair (Samuel Blair, Jr.). Also a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
