As a young adult he had an obvious zest for life and regularly enjoyed a plethora of activities, some of his favorites included; playing baseball, bowling, and roller skating. Byron loved him some cars. Byron also had a great love of music, the bass being his instrument of choice; but he sang as well, at one point he even performed within a 4-man gospel chorus group. When lounging around television shows; he enjoyed watching were Gunsmoke, Hogan’s Heroes, MASH, Rifle Man, and so many more.
Byron was a long-time member at St James Baptist Church, where he sang on the adult choir. As a young professional, Byron lived in Baltimore, MD., and made his living hanging drywall. In his later years when he moved back to Pittsburgh, he worked in Jitney and performed security. He was a worker and worked into his advanced age until he eventually retired from Allied Security.
