Emma Louise Wilson was born on January 8, 1942, to the Reverend Willis Wilson Jr. and Katherine Ann (May) Wilson in Pittsburgh, Pa. She was the fourth of eight children from that union. She was educated in the Pittsburgh Public School system and she attended the University of Pittsburgh for a time. She met Charles F. Smith Jr., who had moved in with his aunt and uncle across the street from the Wilson home. Soon after they were married and had three sons. Charles (Chuckie) Dion (Deekady Deeks) and Brian (Bri-Bri) Smith. They were certainly the apples of their eyes! Emma held several jobs while raising her family. Later in life, she ran a daycare in Beltzhoover for several years, helping the parents in the community. But due to ongoing health concerns, she later had to close the daycare.
She was preceded in death by her parents Katherine Wilson (Grand Ma) Reverend Willis Wilson Jr. (Pop-Pop) James Wilson, Lorraine King, Nathan Wilson, Jack Wilson, Dorothy Moody, Willis Wilson III, and Judith Wilson.
She is survived by her sons; Chuck Smith, and his wife Bridget, Dion Smith, and his wife LaTawnya and Brian Smith, Grand Children, great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and adopted family members from the Beltzhoover community.
Mom, you will be truly missed!
