Tyrone R. Johnson Sr.

Tyrone Royal Johnson Sr, was born on January 10,1946 to the late Eddie Lee Johnson Sr and Inez Virgie Johnson. He was born in Youngstown Ohio, later his parents moved to Pittsburgh, Pa. Once settled in Pittsburgh, he attended Schenley High School and graduated with honors. While in school he excelled in football, track and field and earned a scholarship to Youngstown State. Tyrone gracefully declined the scholarship to serve his God Jehovah. Tyrone met his first wife, and from this union they had a son Tyrone Jr, and a daughter Mia. Tyrone also had 7 grandchildren, Aaron, Jamar, Vanikka (who he fondly called his baby doll), Jasad, Jasan, Desiree and Helaina. He also had a great grandson Aaron II. Tyrone adored his grandchildren, they all had a special place in his heart. Later in life Tyrone was blessed to find Denise Taylor at the Kingdom Hall he attended, where they were later married. With this union Tyrone became a proud stepfather to Tammy, Mark and Mike. He also had 3 very special grandchildren, O’Rajah, D’Asia and Devin Wilkes. Anyone who knew Tyrone, knew he was a man of his word. He took much pride in being one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He was a loving and caring family man. Tyrone had 2 older brothers who preceded him in death. Eddie Lee Jr, and Cleveland Gaiter (Brenda). To carry on his memory is his brother James Gaiter (Dee), Don Johnson (Linda), sister Olivia Staton and his youngest brother Glenn Johnson (Corinne) and his sister Florene Griffin. He also had a host of nieces and nephews and many loving friends.
