Stanley E. Taylor, Sr. being full of years and having finished the will of the Lord, left earth for heaven on February 11, 2017. Stanley was born in Homestead, Pennsylvania on September 22, 1931 to William and Thelma Taylor. He attended Pittsburgh area schools and graduated with honors from Taylor Allderdice High School. In his early twenties, he enlisted in the military serving in the U.S. Army and Air force. While in the service, Stanley was based in France, Korea, Alaska and many of our Nation's states. He retired from the Air Force in 1976 with a total of 26 years in the armed services. Stanley earned an Associate’s Degree in Real Estate while attending night school and working in management for Elliott Company in Jeanette, Pennsylvania. He retired from Elliot in 1994. Stanley, (known as Brother Taylor to those at the church) received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior at the tender age of 12 years old and over the years he was a devoted and faithful believer. He served God and the local church as a Trustee, Chairman of the Board, Teamleader of the Diaconate and Adult Sunday School teacher. Stan also shared his love for God in the community serving as a minister in area prisons. Brother Taylor’s recent church loyalty was to New Life Church of God, under the leadership of Pastor Mark Richardson. Brother Taylor had a great love of reading and of music. Among his favorites were Gospel and Jazz music. Stanley enjoyed various sports and sharing his knowledge of sports with others. This led him to coach young adults, and children in basketball and little league. One of Stanley’s claims to fame is his amazing ping pong playing skills that earned him several tournament championships while in the military.

To honor his legacy, Stanley leaves his wife of 57 years Yvonne Taylor, 5 children, Pamela Thompson (Mark), Stanley Taylor II (Margaret), Bruce Taylor (Grace), Colleen Taylor, and Rosalind Williams. His grandchildren are Tiffany, Matthew, Mark, Michael, Trinity, Manuel, Logan, Cameron, Amanda, Kimberly, Phylicia, Corey, Sean, and Reece.
