Sherlyn Wright

Sherlyn C. Porter Wright, was born on February 15, 1950 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Raymond M. Porter and Elizabeth R. Porter.  Sherlyn died peacefully in her sleep at home surrounded by family and friends. 

Sherlyn accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age and found comfort worshiping at First Baptist Church in Penn Hills. Sherlyn attended Lincoln Park Elementary School, Seneca Junior High School and Penn Hills Senior High School.  She also received her associate’s degree in Computer Management from ICM School of Business. Sherlyn was very active in the Lincoln Park Community and was one of the founding members of the Lincoln Park Drill Team.  Sherlyn began her employment at WRS Motion Picture Laboratory and later joined ETC. Clothing Store.  She ultimately retired from the Federal Reserve Bank of Pittsburgh where she worked for over 15 years.  Sherlynwas family-oriented and had close relationships with her children and siblings.  Even during times of trials and tribulations, Sherlyn will always be remembered as having a compassionate, loving and giving heart.  

The memory of Sherlyn will be cherished by her two devoted children Tamara Love and Charles Wright III as well as her two brothers, Raymond M. Porter and Conrad Porter. Also left to celebrate her wonderful life are her grandchildren Jazming Dentu, Jacob Dentu and Josiah Dentu as well as her best friend Sandra Ellis.  

She will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her including: her two very special friends, Karen Hopkins and Linda Wortham, her adopted daughters, Bunny Higgins and Rae Lynn Pennix as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
