Ronald Leek

Ronald Eugene Leek, was born on May 9th, 1949 at the Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.  He died on January 20th, at Shadyside  Manor Care Nursing Home in Shadyside, Pittsburgh, PA, under the Hospice Care medical program.  Ronald was preceded in death by his father, Green Leek, his mother Romeda (Hicks) Leek, his sister Virginia Tucker as well as his brother James (big Jim) Mercer.

Ronald leaves to mourn, his wife , Gloria Venay Leek, two step daughters, Gerlynn Williams (Howard Fleming), Jermaine Robinson (Rashe) and his special sister Gerry Cole (Thomas).  Ronald also leaves three uncles, Gregorgy Hicks, Mathew Hicks and Russell Hicks.  He also leaves to mourn many nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, as well as many long time friends.

Ronald went to and graduated from Gladstone High School in the Hazelwood District of Pittsburgh.  At Gladstone, Ronald enjoyed playing football and other sports as well as spending a lot of time in the automotive shop learning to repair cars.  One of his favorite in school classes was that of doing Art work.   His art work was very amazing as well as unique to whatever his imagination allowed him to see.  He even did quite well when he would often draw portraits of persons on paper.  This kind of appreciation for drawing continued long after he finished high school as well as the time he spent in the Marine Corps.

Ronald never minded his signature nickname, Leeko!    It always brought a big smile on his face.
