Nina Mae Moultrie was born on May 19, 1931, to the late Jacob Settles Sr. and Evelyn Frye Settles in Brownsville, PA. Nina graduated from Redstone Township High School . She moved to Pittsburgh, PA and was united in marriage to Henry Moultrie, Jr., from this union five children were born.
Nina worked as an IBM Word Processor for many years with the City of Pittsburgh. Her last job before she retired at the age of 80, she worked for AARP as a Payroll Specialist. Her passion was sewing, knitting and crocheting; she was known for her fabulous interior designs and handmade fashions. She loved spending time and talking on the phone with her siblings, children and grandchildren. After a lengthy illness, God called Nina home as her eternal reward.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Moultrie, Jr.; sons, Allen and Henry Andre Moultrie, sisters; Evelyn and Belinda Settles, brothers; Charles Nelson Settles, Robert Lee Settles and Jack Settles and her special friend Harvey Moore, Sr.
Her cherished memories will forever live in the hearts of her children; Debra (Ronald) Haines, Evelyn (Clyde) Thornton, Mark (Deborah) Moultrie, brothers; Richard (Twila) Settles, Albert "Lawrence" (Sonya) Settles, and Jacob "Freddy" Settles; sisters; Goldie (Roy) Jones, Charlotte Dabney, Darlene (Steve) Curry and Donna Settles, 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and a host of nephews, nieces, family, friends and her Silver Lake Commons community.
