Life Reflections of Meredith Elston

THERE IS A TIME TO BE BORN: Meredith Elston was born March 26, 1929 in Pittsburgh, PA to Leslie Pryor and Norman Evans.

A TIME TO LOVE: Meredith met, fell in love with and married Willie B. Turner at an early age.  This union was blessed wit two daughters, Eleanor and Donna.  She later met and married Newgene Elston, and to this union came Pearl and Todd.

Family was important to Meredith.  She was quick to open her home and welcome anyone who needed her love, guidance and protection.  Caretaking was one of her giftings.  She proved that with her love for, and the many hours she spent, gardening and cooking.  In her spare time away from cooking and gardening, you would find Meredith watching her favorite soap operas or on the phone with JC Penney, Figis and/or Swiss Colony buying for family and friends.

Meredith was a loving and nurturing wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to those who knew and loved her.

Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest joys.  Being around them lightened up her world.  Her babies could do no wrong.  They were Grandma's babies.

A TIME FOR LEGACY:

Meredith departed this life headed home on December 3, 2017 surrounded by family.  Preceding her in death and welcoming her home was her sister;  Virginia Mineor and brothers; Felton and James Evans.

She leaves to remember her love and life on this earth; Children: Eleanor Sherman, Donna Taylor, Pearl Love (David) and Todd Elston (Grinetta); Fourteen grandchildren: Tikylan (Andre), Shemaiah, Arthur (Nadiyah), Passion, Nina, Eugene, Jr., Janet, Sean, Brandyn (Diamond), Todd, Jr., Nicole (Anthony), Fred (Joylene), Marlana and Clifton; 13 Great-grandchildren: Dremiere, Channing, Lennox, Scarlett, Aliviah, Brandyn, Jr., Tahjanae, Tahjae, Tiari, Lily, Fred, Alexis and Austin.  One brother, Norman Evans, Philadelphia, PA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
