Marcelaine Nelson

On November 24, 1939, Marcelaine (East) Nelson was born to Bobbie Lee East and Mary (Copeland) East in Dora, Alabama.  She departed this temporal life in preference to life eternal on November 30, 2017.

Marcelaine was educated at Clairton High School.  During her career, she worked for Kaufmann's department store, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Western PA, Allegheny Ludlum Steel and Peoples Natural Gas.

On August 31, 1963, Marcelaine was wed to Edward E. Nelson and they recently celebrated 54 years of marriage.  They had two children - Natalie J. Nelson and Chad E. Nelson.  They made their home in Point Breeze in the early years of their marriage.  They later moved to Wilkinsburg and eventually to Churchill where she lived for the last 3

2 years of her life.

Marcelaine's main purpose in this life was to be the best wife and mother she could possibly be.  Family meant everything to her.

She gave life to Christ and was baptized in the early 1970's while attending Sixth Mount Zion Baptist Church in the East Liberty area.

Marcelaine was preceded in death by her sister, Vivian L. Wright, of Penn Hills and her brother, William Thomas East of Clairton, PA.  Leaving to mourn her death is her husband, Edward E. Nelson; her daughter, Natalie J. Nelson and her son, Chad E. Nelson; siblings: Bobbi June Berry of Plum Boro, PA; Novella Jenkins of Decatur, GA; Gwendolyn Barr of Clairton, PA; Gregory East of Monessen, PA; Eric East of Wilkinsburg, PA and Bobby East of Penn Hills, PA; two grandchildren: Tajhi Sallie-Nelson and Olivia Perdue and a host of nieces, nephews and many other family members and friends.
