Obituary

Janice E. Jones was born 12, 1937 to the late Robert H. Brown Sr. and the late Mattie E. Brown (Smith), in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 23, 2016 at West Penn Hospital. Janice known as Jan, to family and friends was educated in the Pittsburgh Public School system. She was a member of the Saint James A.M.E. Church and she worked for the Pittsburgh Port Authority, where she retired in 1999. Jan met and married the love of her life James Clarence “JJ” Jones, they were both lovers of music and could often be found listening to some blue or jazz. They also love to travel together. She was a great cook and famous for trying to get you to taste something, if you wanted to or not. Jan was the eldest of five siblings to late Carolyn Brown and Robert H. Brown Jr., and the late (Sister-in-Law) Brenda Brown. She leaves to mourn sisters, Roberta E. Leonard, Regina D. Topeck and brother-in-law, Horace E. Topeck and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Janice E. Jones will be dearly missed, and we will cherish her memory for always.
