Gerald Raymond McDonald

Jerry, as he liked to be called, left this earth on Sunday, August 6, 2017.  He was the third oldest child of Thomas and Harriet McDonald, born March 23, 1949.  Shortly after graduating from Penn Hills High School, he joined the Navy and served for 6 years as a Director on the flight deck of an aircraft during the Vietnam War.

After returning home from the Navy, Jerry secured employment with the U.S. Postal Service in the bulk mail department in Warrendale, PA, where he worked until his retirement in 2010.

Jerry had a passion for photography and he could talk about it all day long.  He also loved talking about his favorite soap operas, tennis and mostly about his beautiful grandson Kavion.  Jerry also loved listening to jazz, which was what he was doing when God came and took him home.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Harriet McDonald; brothers, Ronald (Dorothy), Thomas and Harold (Maelene); sisters, Claudia and Constance (Stan); and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
