While here she attended the Pittsburgh Public School System Fifth Avenue High School then transferring to Schenley where she finished her education before shortly moving to New York, New York. After several years in New York Elizabeth returned to Pittsburgh where she met Rodney Turner Slade from the union there would be 2 sons birthed, Roland and Barry. They became quickly everything that she would live for. She gave to the raising of her sons and being a virtuous wife to her husband Rodney.

A stay a home mother it wasn't  long before her family discovered that she was a miracle worker. Providing for her family through some great hardships a bountiful meal when the cupboards were all but bare. A roof over her family's head warm clothes in the winter and activities in the summer with all the neighbors kids. All this with enough love that is poured out of her home touching those that encountered 2125 Webster Avenue. Kids flocked to her steps drawn by the smells of her baked goods. Waiting with her with great anticipation for her to bring out a tray of tasteful delights of cookies or other pastries. Her baking skills was the the thing that legends where made of, cookies, pies, cakes you name it she could bake it and all from scratch.

Throughout her life she was afforded the opportunity to impart her wisdom and love into the lives of her grandchildren. Visits with her with were wonderful she welcomed you into her home, no matter how long it had been since your last visit, she loved hearing about what was going on in their lives and always showed genuine concern for others.
