Dewit Cohen, Jr.

Dewitt Cohen, Jr. was born January 31, 1946 in Spartanburg, South Carolina to the late Dewitt Cohen and Mattilee Wilson Cohen.  He was one of two children from this union.  He was a resident of Penn Hills who resided at the Jefferson Manor Apartments.

Dewitt came to Pittsburgh in 1968 where he was drafted into the army.  He received an honorable discharge in 1971.  He then became an employee of Laidlaw as a bus driver.  He received many awards for outstanding service as a school bus driver for the City of Pittsburgh until he became ill.

Dewitt was preceded in death by his son, Stacey Cohen.  He departed this life suddenly on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at LifeCare in Wilkinsburg, Dewitt leaves to cherish their memories, 2 daughters Tracy and Marcia Cohen both of Charlotte, North Carolina; 2 brothers Nathan Cohen (wife Katherine) of Lyman, South Carolina and Willie Murray (wife Dawn) of Pittsburgh and a host of other relatives and friends and man's best friend his dog Killer.
