On January 9, 2017 David Thomas Williams Jr. lost his 15-month battle with cancer. David was born August 3, 1931 in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania. He attended Greensburg High School until he made the choice to serve his country. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1950, and served until 1953 during the Korean War. After David’s military service, he worked as a postal clerk in the United States Postal Service. He retired after 36 years of employment. David met, as he referred to her, his “partner and soulmate” at a Valentine’s Day Dance in 1948. He was widowed by his beloved wife Vivian Williams on November 4, 2008 after fifty-two years of marriage.
Faith in the Lord was the foundational rock of David’s life. At his time of death he was a faithful member of St. Alban’s Anglican Church in Murrysville, Pa where he attended 8:30 am service every Sunday. He is survived by a brother-in-law, and a host of nieces and nephews. Friends and family may call Friday, January 20th from 2 to 8 pm at House of Law Funeral Home in Pittsburgh, Pa. The funeral will take place Saturday, January 21st at 10 am at St. Alban’s Anglican Church in Murrysville, Pa.
