Corinthia Roan(affectionately known at the church as "Mother Corinthia"), went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 19, 2017. Corinthia was born in Pittsburgh, PA to the Rev. Henry D. Stewart and Sarah Stewart. After completing her nursing degree in NYC Corinthia became a registered nurse for over 35 years at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, PA. Corinthia was preceded in death by her second husband, George Roan and first husband York Williams Sr., with whom she shared 4 children: Deborah Marzaloes, Dorothy Miller, Dolores Sands(Pgh) and Dr. York Williams JR. (Phil). Corinthia also leaves behind six grandchildren (Whitney, Ashley, Courtney, Kiersten, Katelynn and Jalick), one grandson who preceded her into eternity(Matthew) and eleven great grandchildren and two more on the way. In addition, Corinthia leaves behind one sister, Arzella McCauley, (Penn Hills) and two more sisters (Sarah Henderson, Barbara Peterkin) and one brother (Henry Stewart Jr.) who each preceded her. Corinthia also leaves behind a host of nieces ,nephews, in-laws, great nieces and nephews, Bibleway Church Family and Pastors, Friends and more. She is loved and will be sorely missed. But we know we shall see her yet again.....Amen.

Did you know that mom loved her family and ....after the loss od her first husband York Sr., and the girls off to college, Mom retired from traditional nursing and she and Duke (York Jr.) moved to North Carolina to assist her father in taking care of her mother. Shortly thereafter and after the passing of her mother, mom moved to be near her sister Barbara in Greensboro NC. Shortly thereafter, Corinthia met her second husband George but before marrying him mom moved back to PA to be near her children and grandchildren. Upon arriving back to PA mom went back to college and completed her Associates Degree ion Art Education and worked with children for a brief period before entering the health care field s a Private Duty Nurse where she was loved by her clients. During this period, mom and Duke joined Bibleway Christian Fellowship Church, with grandkids in tow....where she served on numerous committees from the Head of the Ushers and VA & Nursing Home Ministry to the Evangelistic Ministry, her passion! In addition, mom became a Church Mother, where she served on the Intercession Ministry and remained active in other church ministries and events. Shortly thereafter mom moved to Lower Burrell and George asked her hand in marriage and joined her from NC. Mother Cory remained sold out for Christ and loved her family, church community and loved to win souls for Christ.Mom remained a devoted member of Bibleway even after moving in with her daughters in Pittsburgh and enjoyed receiving correspondence and phone calls from her dear church family, friends and Pastor Mitch. And bet you didn't know that mom continued to draw and construct her artwork.
