So we are always of Courage we know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. For we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes we are of good courage and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. II Corinthians 5:6-8 A beautiful soul is no longer with her earthly family. Claudette Fields three time cancer survivor resident of Pittsburgh, Pa departed this life peacefully at her home on February 10, 2017 surrounded by love ones. Born in Pittsburgh, Pa on November 21, 1947 to Maceo Sr. and Darris Patterson. She received her formal education at Penn Hills School District and Peabody High School. Claudette continued her education studying Cosmology and fashion design. In a career change She took a position as a building control technician at KDKA where she worked until retirement. Claudette enjoyed traveling having visited many countries such as Paris, Germany, Norway, and Trips to the Caribbean Islands. These trips were inspired from her avid reading habits and desire to see the world. She married Edgar Strothers in 1965. From that union they were blessed with a daughter, Tamela. The union dissolved and Edgar preceded her in death in September 1988. After some time she was united in marriage to David L. Fields in 1979 for 25+ years and he preceded her in death in August 2005. Claudette will be forever cherished for her unbridled giving to others. She was best known for giving no nonsense advice straight from the heart and pay-it-forward.

Claudette was the youngest of thirteen siblings. Her parents Maceo Sr., Darris Patterson and siblings, June Elizabeth Berger, Antoinette Patterson (twin of Claudette) and Jimmy Patterson preceded her in death. Claudette is survived by her daughter Tamela Gallman (David); three grandchildren, Patricia, Rhonda and Emmanuel; three greatgrandchildren, Kavon, Angel, and Sumir; additionally she leaves to treasure her memory nine siblings, Richard Maseo Jr., (Sherrie), Norman (Armeta), Donald Earl, John Andrew (Julia), Walter, Charlotte (Jessie), Jean, Casey  and a host of family and friends.
