Bernice Wheeler
July 24, 1933 ~ September 4, 2017 (age 84) 84 Years OldBernice Wheeler was born on July 24, 1933, to the late Harold Myers and Callie Reeves. She lived in the Hill District section of Pittsburgh and the Penn Hills area. She attended the Pittsburgh Public Schools, Holy Rosary Catholic School and graduated from Fifth Avenue High School.
Bernice married Eugene James Wheeler and to this union four daughters, Leslie Marie Wheeler, Marva Diane Wheeler, Marsha Kim Moore and Shelly Wheeler was born. Years later, Bernice was blessed with two other daughters, Deborah Virginia Wheeler and Monika Wheeler-Hanna (James).
She was employed at the Sweet William Restaurant and V A Hospital on Highland Drive where she retired after many years of dedicated service in the Culinary Department.
Bernice was a very fun loving and caring person who loved sports, cooking, baking and kept up with all of the current events. She loved life, her family and friends and always kept a smile on your face.
In 2014, Bernice's health began to fail her. After graduating from Nursing School, her granddaughter, Jasmine Wheeler began taking care of her. Jasmine made sure that the last three years of her life were spent receiving excellent care and treatment.
She departed this life on September 4, 2017 and she is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Callie Reeves; husband, Eugene; daughter, Marva and sister Dora.
Bernice is survived by her daughters, Leslie, Marsha, Shelly, Deborah and Monika; sister, Felicia Myers; brother, Vincent Myers and sister/girlfriend, Margaret Washington; and twelve grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
