Bernard (Sam) D. Wood, Jr.

Bernard D Wood was born October 18, 1935 in Pittsburgh, PA. He was born to Bernard D. Wood and Nellie Louis Weaver (both deceased). Bernard (Sam) was the third of seven children. Mary Jean Wood, Montiera Louis Grigsby, Gerald Wood (deceased), Carol Lynn Weaver, Sandra Lee Weaver, Thomas (Bart) Weaver (Tierra). He leaves to mourn his seven children. Juanita (Nita) Wood, Bernard D. Wood III (Marlene), Eva Renee Wood, Ray Wood, Julie (Missy) Wood-McGriff (Donnie), Rashie Gerald Stanley Barnett, Adam Marshall Higgs and former wife Julia Mae Wood. He also leaves 9 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren. Bernard attended Westinghouse High School. Later he met and married Julia Mae Milliones. He was a lover of boxing and a long-distance runner. He traveled across the states training inexperienced boxers, training former boxers “Fast hands” Eddie Chambers and Monty Clay. Bernard loved his family. He loved to eat and he loved listening to good music. In his later days, he enjoyed singing with and listening to his children sing.
